Software on the HPC Cloud

SURFsara offers the HPC Cloud on basis of an IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) paradigm. This means that the user sees the HPC Cloud as a self-service sandbox.

As a user, you are free to build your computing nodes (virtual machines) yourself by arranging CPU, memory, network and storage together. You can interconnect them in your own private network (private cluster), or make (part of) them reachable from the internet.

On your virtual machines, you can install the operating system and software that you need.

You must pay special attention to licensed software, because you are responsible for arranging and honouring licensing.
